I tried a medlar a couple of years and I loved, but never could get them (well, I tried not so much) until this year that an acquaintance gave him a lot to my mother.
Suddenly ... Let there be light! I realized what was the sapodilla tree, and that montevideo is full of these trees. There are parks, trails, gardens and patios ... Everywhere!.
And I went headlong into the adventure of going out there, in my travels as always trying to find loquat trees (and grab a couple of way, of course: P). Unfortunately I arrived a little late to the season, and trees were left with almost no fruit. But I have a mental map of a few trees for next year;)
loquat fruit has a sweet flavor reminiscent of peach. The tree is usually small, with long leaves, reminds me of an olive tree.

Of the loquat seeds were me. And gladly give it to whomever is willing and able to plant (or rather, the change for other seeds;)) who wants to leave me a message.
